You don't have health insurance? For students of the Polish Language Institute, we have several options to choose from (or combine).
Voluntary insurance with the NFZ
Students of the Polish Language Institute may take out voluntary insurance with the National Health Fund (NFZ) on the basis of a written application submitted to the Fund if they reside in the Republic of Poland. It is crucial that in this case they are freed from paying the additional fee for voluntary insurance in the NFZ.
Legal basis: art. 3 section 2 Subparagraph of the Act of 27 August 2004 on health care services financed from public funds

The insured are also: 4) 4) those who take courses in the Polish language and preparation courses for taking up education in the Polish language which are referred to in the regulations on higher education, who are not citizens of a Member State of the European Union or a Member State of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and who are not persons referred to in Art. 1 Subparagraph 3 [1] |
It applies to persons who are not citizens of a European Union Member State or a European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Member State and who legally reside on the territory of a European Union Member State or a European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Member State other than the Republic of Poland - if they are subject to compulsory health insurance according to Article 66 or if they insure voluntarily on the terms specified in Article 68.

How to apply for health insurance in the NFZ?
PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE
Every foreigner (regardless of whether they are students at the Polish Language Institute or not) is required to have health insurance at the time of entry and during their stay in the Republic of Poland.

If you do not have a voluntary health insurance or work insurance in Poland, you may purchase private insurance. We cooperate with Wiener Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń S.A. and provide the option of purchasing insurance for medical treatment of foreigners in our office.
WHERE TO APPLY TO PURCHASE THE POLICY?
You can purchase the insurance policy at the office of the Polish Language Institute between 10:00 and 18:00 from Monday to Friday. The policy can also be ordered through our online store.
What documents will you need?
It is not necessary to present a document confirming identity or legality of stay, however, in order to purchase the insurance policy it is necessary to provide the following data of the insured person: name, surname, citizenship, passport number, date of birth, e-mail, telephone and address of residence.
One-month cost: 78 PLN
ANNUAL COST: 577 PLN

*Minimum insurance period is one month, maximum - 12 months.
Note: Not all health insurance policies meet the conditions specified in the Act on Foreigners. Before purchasing an insurance policy, it is advisable to read the information provided by the Minister of Foreign Affairs on insurers and the insurance they offer that meets the conditions referred to in paragraph 1 Subparagraph 2 (a) and paragraph 1b of the Act on Foreigners of 12 December 2013
